Artist Statement

My work is made up of many layers of information. I am primarily interested in illustration, faberge eggs, European Porcelains, baroque/Rococo ornamentation, and pulling influences from my upbringing to decorate my work.  A dichotomy exists between the crude construction process and materials, paired with a reference to the history of high ornamentation. These pieces aim to playfully commemorate daily life by intertwining these contrasting elements.
